TransLink W: R2 RapidBus From North Van to Metrotown launching early

You know what feels good? Getting to work faster. TransLink just fast-tracked the R2 RapidBus extension connecting the North Shore to Metrotown, launching in September instead of December. Buses will pull up every 6-7 minutes during peak hours. Direct connection from Park Royal to Metrotown means no more transfer at Phibbs Exchange. Bigger 60-foot buses, new stops in Burnaby, and all-day service seven days a week. Over 14,000 daily trips use this corridor, so I'm chalking this up as a semi-rare Translink W.

You can play snow volleyball at Cypress Mountain now

It's not small, it's cold. That was the winning team from this weekend's snow volleyball tournament at Cypress Mountain. Two UBC Thunderbirds players brought the sport back to the North Shore Saturday, organizing a six-team tournament. They're already planning next winter: a full season across B.C. mountains.
